Creating Community

Community Building Groups

Community groups are the basic building block of Hope Community Church. They provide a solid way to grow in friendship with other members of Hope Community while also having an opportunity to grow in a non-traditional setting. The smallest building block is our family community group. We also do not have ministries but have groups based around affinities. For instance, we have women's and men's groups without having a women's or men's ministry.

Beyond the family group, there are two other types of community groups. The first is the Community Building Group. These groups exist to help people grow closer to each other in their relationships as friends while bonding around a familiar activitiy. The second type of group are set up around bible studies. For the first and third quarter, Community growth groups follow a curriculum written from Pastor Danny's sermon notes. For the second and fourth quarters groups are allowed to choose from an approved curiculum listing.

This type of group allows people to get to know one another and build community with each other. They provide a safe place for people to have an introduction to Hope Community.

Community Growth Groups

Hope Community's Growth Groups have started with you in mind. These groups are intended to help you grow on your way to being a self feeder and a leader.

Community Groups by Type

Hope Community does not have ministries. When we started Hope, we began to study lean principles. Lots of churches have tons of ministries that have redundancies. They replicate the same things across mutiple affinity groups.

Community groups revolve around affinty groups. Married, singles, men, women... Then as a group we come together to accomplish evangelism, ministry, fellowship, and spiritual development. So as you search groups, find people who fit you.

Partnership and Baptism

Baptisms and Partnership are two core beliefs here at Hope Community. We believe that these key events in people's lives change them in a way that is important to their spiritual growth.

Partnership
Partnership is an important accountability tool. We are not members of a group. We partner together to accomplish ministry together.
Baptism
Jesus' last command to his followers was to go into all the world and preach the gospel. His next phrase was to mark those who would believe by baptism. Choosing baptism declares that I follow Jesus and want everyone to know.
